The DEMPAC Mission
DEMPAC is a political action committee dedicated to securing an enduring Democratic majority in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and to achieving that goal through the empowerment of the volunteer community.
DEMPAC was formed by a group of political entrepreneurs with decades of experience working with grassroots and netroots activists. Inspired by the talented and dedicated community of volunteers across Virginia, they came together to plan a permanent, state-of-the-art technical and social infrastructure for the advancement of volunteerism.
DEMPAC brings people together from different campaigns and keeps them together from one campaign season to the next. Its goal is to provide cutting edge organizing tools previously beyond the reach of all but the largest campaigns. But that's just the beginning.
DEMPAC provides services no other organization can offer. As a neutral entity, it can bring together volunteers who might be working for a candidate, for the DPVA, or for anyone else, into a single, vast, powerful and effective community.
While retaining control over their own involvement, every volunteer in each group will become a potential volunteer for all groups. After each primary election, volunteers can seamlessly unite behind the nominees with little more than a click.
Also, by equally serving the grassroots-netroots community, candidates, the Party and private investors, DEMPAC will be insulated from the pressures that compel, or even require others to throw everything they have at short-term needs.
DEMPAC provides a unique opportunity for supporters of long-term growth to literally invest in the grassroots.
DEMPAC will not spend money on negative television ads or consultants' commissions, nor will it pay to bring in field operatives who will be gone as soon as the polls close. DEMPAC will invest in the single most effective tool available to campaigns - personal contact from one's friends and neighbors.
The corporate world is rapidly moving from television advertising to word-of-mouth marketing, due to advances in techniques for message management, tracking and accountability. We bring those techniques and other cutting-edge tools to political volunteerism, allowing campaigns to incorporate and rely upon volunteerism like never before.
Through DEMPAC, Democrats have the chance to be ahead of the tactical curve for a change, with Virginia leading the way.
